Short term health insurance plans

Short term health insurance plans (also called temporary health insurance) can help you fill a gap in health coverage from one month to just under a year. The length of coverage may vary in many states. These are medically underwritten plans. Short term plans are not ACA plans, but can provide targeted coverage during times of transition. They do not cover preexisting conditions. Application for short term health insurance plans is open year-round.

TriTerm Medical insurance plans

This is a type of short term health insurance plan lasting nearly 3 years. These are medically underwritten plans designed to provide coverage for a longer period than traditional short term plans. They are not ACA plans, but can include more coverage compared to traditional short term plans, like coverage for certain eligible expenses for preexisting conditions after 12 months, preventive care and pharmacy benefits on most plans. You can apply for Triterm Medical insurance plans year-round.

UnitedHealthcare Affordable Care Act insurance plans

Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans are available on the federal and other state-based marketplaces. They are designed to cover preexisting conditions and essential health benefits. Plans are available each year during Open Enrollment or during a Special Enrollment Period if you have a qualifying life event, like you move or lose your job. You may qualify for premium tax credits that can help lower the cost of coverage even more.

This is a supplement to health insurance and is not a substitute for the minimum essential coverage required by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This plan provides limited benefits.

Accident insurance plans

Lack of major medical coverage (or other minimum essential coverage) may result in an additional payment with your taxes.
